Superheroes on Film

Marvel-ous and More!
The Green Hornet DVD hit the shelves yesterday and interestingly enough, stars comedy guy Seth Rogen as Britt Reid : genius, master martial artist, owner of a media empire, and part-time superhero.

Compare and contrast to the film serials produced in the 1940's and if you are old enough to remember, think fondly of the 1960's TV series which starred Bruce Lee as the Hornet's faithful sidekick, Kato.

More Superheroes
I. Am. I-ron Ma-an!”  Robert Downey Jr.'s perfect pitch performances as brilliant industrialist, Tony Stark, are worth a second (or third) look.  For kids, try the cartoon series from Marvel Animation.

No superhero DVD list would be complete without Batman.  In order : Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight.  On the lighter side, don't forget Scooby-Doo...

Kick A** is Dave Lizewski, an average high school kid who becomes a masked crime fighter.  Based on a short run comic book series, which also featured Hit Girl, the movie stars kids but is R all the way.

And Then There's...
The Incredibles, Megamind, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, X-Men, V for Vendetta, Spiderman, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Hellboy, or Incredible Hulk.

On the Big Screen May 6
The Thor of Norse mythology (and Marvel Comics) goes big screen this weekend. Kenneth Branagh directs.  More to come on this one...
