Babies...USA Today said about this film, Babies, and I quote:
"If you were enraptured by March of the Penguins, wait until you see Babies."
Well, I saw the penguins and for me, the "bird" is definitely not the word. But the documentary Babies blew me away and I should state here that I'm a male well over 60 and my kids are out of the house.
The film follows four kids -- Ponijao from Namibia, Bayar from Mongolia, Mari from Toyko, and Hattie from San Francisco from time of birth to their first steps. The thing that makes this movie worth it is the attention paid to the babies in question.
There are many other subtle eye-openers that also make this film enjoyable. Fun to watch is the interaction between older siblings and their newest home-invading relative. It seems poking your sibling when mom's not looking is universal...
