Watching What You Watch As you may know, each feature film DVD included in our collection is labeled with a rating sticker. The sticker is affixed to the lower right hand corner of the DVD cover. Most films are rated by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) via a voluntary system.
Locally, films rated G or PG are generally shelved in our Children's Services area. PG-13 and R-rated films are shelved in the Adult Services area. Also included in our collections are films labeled NR (Not Rated). For the most part NR labled DVDs are international films and documentaries.
We invite all adult patrons to use these labels as a guide to choose for themselves, or for their children, DVDs they want to borrow for in-home viewing and conversation. We also invite you to chat with our staff, if you would like additional information about a particular film in relation to your family's preferences.
